Is the ignition switch easy to replace or does it need special equipment?

I'll get my guy to take a look at it he is changing the crank position sensor tomorrow, thanks though as it sounds like you may have hit the nail on the head.

Hi My Freelander has now been to 3 garages and still no closer to finding the issue, so can anyone help? It's had a new battery, all the filters changed and oil, new injectors, the Low pressure and High pressure pumps working fine both have been cleaned out and it starts fine, but you get 1/2...
