We're not all old farts, although I'm new and may be the only one. I've got an old rm 500 I use for that kind of fun.

Had a vcu and diff replaced at 32,000, replacing them again at 65,000 as huge vibrations from prop shaft on full lock and clicking from the rear end. Had the fuel pump not kick in once as well, not sure if it was anti theft error or failing fuel pump, never done it again though but got a spare...

Just thought I'd join the old forum as my freelander has hit 65,000 and is due it's second VCU and probably rear diff. I'm going to fit a disco 4 rear diff to mine seeing they are the same ratio and appear to have fixed a few of the issues with the mounts.
