Hi could anyone tell me what the differences are between a complete exhaust system for a 1.8 engined freelander post and pre 2000. Are the systems different lengths or are the mounts in different places? Has anyone successfully fitted an early system to a post 2000 car? Thanks Chris

The buffing wheel hasn't been near the block it's only had a small hand brass brush and scotchbrite pad on it, it feels and looks smooth

Why do i need to? It's not been turned with the head off. But if i were to reseal them is it just a case of pulling them out applying sealant to the bases then replacing?

No i haven't dave, the pistons aren't in the proper position as i didn't use a cam locking tool and the cams moved as they do whilst removing the belt, ill realign the block once the head is bolted down with the cams removed this isn't the first k series ive done but ive not rebuilt an engine...

Thanks longbolt, i meant what is required to make a distributer engine into a coil pack engine, but ive been informed all id need to do is swap in my cams and covers so that means i can use early engines aswell
