I have a clonk from my Heldex unit and the local dealer confirmed it and gave me a price. I see on the web you can buy an "alleged" new one for circa £300/£350. Has anyone any experience or recommends on buying one at a lower price than the dealer £3k quote!

I have a mechanical clonk from the rear diff area. LR dealer tells me it is the Heldex unit and will cost £3000. I see 'allegedly' new Heldex units on the web. Is it a fairly safe bet to buy and have fitted by a local VG LR workshop, but not official LR service garage. Dealer apparently...
