ok hes gone out to try that now thanks

it was changed cause it was starting to over heat . yes tried old one and it didn't open , pressure cap is working ok not getting a flow of water from the small pipe ..

hes double double checked and its the correct thermostat .. its really doing his head in what it could be :mad:
