Around town / short runs I get around 28mpg and on a run it goes up to around 35 mpg. As you go over 60mph then fuel economy suffers. Check the usual suspects of tyre pressure not correct and that the brakes aren't binding. A new air filter might help

I think it is something to do with common rail engines. But I wouldn't risk it with a fuel pump that costs £130 and injectors which run to a few hundred quid per set

Have got a Disco TD5 GS Auto :) Had problems with the coolant system which radweld sorted until I went to Driffield and the radiator opened up like a good un on the way home - recovery truck job, only 90 miles to go - anyhow, new rad later and the charge light won't go out so after fiddling...
