I bundled it on ebay if you are interested, I'm near Lyme Regis so it might be a bit too far away http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Discovery-1-300tdi-/222575527644?hash=item33d28906dc:g:A2oAAOSwSzFZYgOS
The fuel cost was killing me as it was being used as my daily commuter. A 110, disco and Mitsubishi Evo (don't ask) later and I'm happy with my second disco. It would be good to come down your way one day soon!
Its quite amazing to come across previous owners! You can tell it has been looked after in the past and I really haven't done any justice.
I was going to be putting it up for sale properly next week at a stupidly low price as there was a car I wanted and would have needed cash kinda quickly...
I'll put a couple of stripes on the bonnet and it will go twice as fast ;)
I have never had to be towed! But now I have typed this it will break down tomorrow and be sold as spares + repairs
In its current state, yes its under 2k. If I had the time it would not take much to get it in really good condition. That was where I was getting at. As is, less than 2k for sure going by the current price of others, hence why I said I am open to offers. Because the interior is decent it makes...
Its just small bits. If I'm still using it next month I'll have fixed it all up. Thats why I want those who are interested to come and have a look and not to buy blind.
It has an MOT til July 24th with no advisories on the last
Due to a new job in the city, the time has come to sell my Disco and replace it with a city dwellers car. This is just me sending out feelers as I always need to have access to a car to get to work, and I'll have to find a workaround in the interim between cars. In all honesty, I believe this...
If you want the easy budget option, you can put 2" spring spacers in that give you a lift, but you don't have to change springs or shocks. I think you miss out on articulation, so not as good for off-roading but just for looks they work ^^
Don't know what a Disco switch is like, but on a Defender the switch could cause a lot of problems, and cheap to fix. But again, no idea what a Disco switch is like
The pipe came off pretty easily in the end, once the first movement happened it slip off. The rubber mounts were the worst bit of putting it back together! I'll get an angle grinder anyway. Is it worth buying a more expensive grinder? £20 is the cheapest I've found for a 4.5 inch.
Yeah its the slide on type. Thanks, I'll have a look. It might be a case of borrowing a car for work next week and just do the whole thing. Some of the joins on the other parts do look pretty corroded.
Thanks!
Last week I was trotting home after work, and my rear silencer fell off. I've bought a complete rear tailpipe replacement part which is fine, but I am having trouble getting the old pipe off.
I don't want to pull it too hard and cock up the rest of the exhaust that is still working. Are there...
I did the same thing, bought a slave for my 110 and it was the wrong size. My local mechanic managed to fix the old one, not sure how he did it but he didn't need to find any parts
