Thank you so much for the prompt replies, the Battery is new. I have been over the electrics checking all the terminals and cleaning things...I confess I have a feeling it is the solenoid. I shall investigate further. But your help is really appreciated Thank you :)

Hi everybody, I have a Freelander 1, 3 door sport TD4, that has a starter motor problem. turn the key and their is a loud click. and the engine fails to turn or start, the Landy has a good few miles on the clock as its used a lot. may I ask if you think the problem would be caused by worn ring...
