I have an early Series 2A diesel that had a LR petrol engine transplant. It is in serious need of rewiring, but I can't find a suitable wiring diagram with an alternator conversion. I want to do away with the regulator box completely rather than mess about with its wiring. Any ideas??

Spooky! I'm having exactly the same problem with mine. I've cleaned up all the terminals on the coil and replaced a couple of dodgy looking earth wires, but no joy. I'd like some enlightenment on this one too... :/ Thanks WMD
