    TD5 Utility - Pedal Interface Box/ECU Wiring

Hi, yeah I figured out the bypass in the end.I've got hydraulics, which I run a log splitter from occasionally so having the remote engine speed controller is handy. I'll dig out the instructions I've got when I get a min. I set up connectors so I could just bypass the box for normal driving and...

    TD5 Utility - Pedal Interface Box/ECU Wiring

cheers- I actually thought it might be a standard TD5 'part' . It looks like its part of original wiring although the VDO Pedal Interface box has been connected to it. I'll unwrap some of the wiring and see which , if any, pins it connects to in the ECU plugs.

    TD5 Utility - Pedal Interface Box/ECU Wiring

Hi all, my Ex Utility Td5 has a VDO Pedal Interface box for limiting top speed, speed control and also allows a engine rev remote control which I use to increase engine revs to run the hydraulics and my log splitter. The Pedal control box intercepts the signals from the throttle pedal which...

TD5 grey sludge in air intake

hi all, my defender had the egr removed a few years back. I recently added a new larger intercooler , new hoses, remap , etc. All going well. I pulled the hose off the air intake manifold today and there is a lot of wet grey sludge sitting in the silicon hose between the intercooler and the...

Rear Diff - rebuild / replace?

Actually thats a good point re not clearing it out the old damaged metal. I guess without actually pulling the cover off and having a look I'll not know for sure. I fitted the magnetic X-Plugs mid 2014 during a diff oil change (no broken metal then) and I've done one other diff oil change...

Rear Diff - rebuild / replace?

thanks, yeah looks a bit odd and agree - it does look like a weld on closer inspection. Just had a look at the many (many many) (this was an ex E.ON utilities machine) pages of service history that came with the vehicle which I bought 5 years ago and there is mention of work being done to the...

Rear Diff - rebuild / replace?

Hi All, I was changing the diff oils at the weekend on my Utility HD 110 td5 and found some large metal chunks stuck to the drain plug magnet from the rear diff. I don't recall any nasty noises or abuse being given to the drive train in the last year or so since I last changed the diff oil...
