Some off them are a bit pricy for something thats only going to be used (hopefully) now and again. What the best for the money?

What are good choices for a Freeland on 18" rims. Mainly road driving with the occasional off road.

Starts fine when cold and/or the glow plugs are active. When warm or just been started its 50/50 if it starts first time or will need 3-4 attempts. Once its running everything's OK. Seen a thread that says it's the camshaft sensor that's on it's way out. Will change this first as the fuel...

Due an intermittent starting problem on my 04 Freelander and after checking the threads on here I need to order some spares. Where is the best place for price/quality? Also need to be willing to post abroad. Thanks.

Hi, Not sure if this is normal or not but I have just bought a used 2004 Td4 SE Freelander and it's not starting on the first turn of the key. As per the book I'm waiting for all the lights to go out when I first start it, it usually fires but then dies. It then takes 2-4 attempts before it...

First stupid question of the forum, what's a VCU (Viscous coupling unit?) and an IRD? and what maintainence is needed?:confused:

Hi, Probably to late to ask as I've already bought one, but are Freelanders as bad as the media makes out. I know about the head gasket problems on the petrol engines and have bought a Td4, but otherwise what are they like?

Shouldn't the engine service be in the service schedule? or does it have it's own maintainance plan?

I saw that before when I first found the site, what about tappet checks or fuel pump/injector changes?

Hi, Just bought my first Land rover, a 2004 Td4 Freelander1 (I know, I know:D). I am a Brit based in Norway and was wondering does anyone have a service schedule for this and is the Haynes manual worth it. Cheers.
