Thanks for your encouraging and constructive comment. Luckily I didn't pay a lot for it. Certainly lessons learnt and I will try to salvage what I can. The shame of it is the body etc is in really good condition.

Hi - Have just joined the forum in the hope there are some problem solvers here who relish a challenge! I bought (in haste) a Freelander 1 2 Lt Diesel to discover it was registered with a 1.75 petrol engine. The bloke who sold it to me said a diesel had been dropped in, was not problem etc...
