Hey lads! I have a 1999, 3 doors Freelander, 2.0 di. Bought it second hand in 2010 and kept it as my daily ride ever since.

morning lads! Could any of you confirm if theres any difference between the prop shaft of a Di in relation to a TD4s? Just the other day i was having this discussion with a friend of mine as he has a TD4 and i have a Di, and we were just wondering if theres was any difference between both cars...

I'll have a more serious look at this during the weekend. im leaning towards ignition switch but the alternator is going to go through inspection also, let's see. I'll keep you lads updated on it

Hello again, been awhile since I've last posted here. So the title says it all, yesterday my 1999 2.0 di Freelander engine shuts down while driving. Engine shuts down completely and along with it all dashboard lights turn off too. Remove key, insert key, turn, all dash boards light up, crank...

So i gave your sugestion a go. I gave the conector a push and it did moved inwards a tiny bit, lets see if that'll solve the problem. All i got to do now is wait and see if it worked.

Wow dramatic footage in that you tube vídeo. I think that unplugging the battery positive terminal would kill the engine and thus saving it from total destruction. In stressfull situations sometimes we don't think clearly, i recogn.

Motor is a 1999 2.0 Di Hyppo, if i rev the car and hold it at what ever RPM 2000, 3000, 4000 doesnt matter, as soon as i hit the brake while my foot is on the gas pedal, the revs drop right away. Any idea why?
