My crazy diff ratio change idea

still putting more stress on it, which ever box it is

My crazy diff ratio change idea

and the one thing you havent taken into account is the gear box, known to disintegrate on a whim, changing the diff will put more stress on it when pulling away

My crazy diff ratio change idea

see i just went ahead and did it, and there were plenty saying it couldnt be done and noone saying how to do it

My crazy diff ratio change idea

    so do the swap then
  5. badfluffy

My crazy diff ratio change idea

but what are the 5th and 8th gear ratios
  6. badfluffy

My crazy diff ratio change idea

you should look at the gear ratios, in the 5 speed 4th is 1 to 1, in the 8 speed 7 is 1to1, the later box may have 8 gears but thats only to fil in the spaces between the 5 speed to make changing even smother, the manual 6th gear is a lower gear than the 5 speed autos 5th so i need more revs...

    L322 HELP - L322 M62 dropped nut

My crazy diff ratio change idea

and that keeps making me feel tied
  9. badfluffy

My crazy diff ratio change idea

it was an x3 box, you would have to change both diffs as the transferbox is not a true diff

My crazy diff ratio change idea

as someone who drasticly changed hes drive train (manual box) in a l322 i looked at changing diff ratios, but decided against it as too much work for little gain, several things came from it, the forum was split about doing it ( one member was very against it and another wanted details on how i...

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

i went through this last year low pressure and no start was about to change the high pressure relief valve at the back of the high pressure pump when a diesel engineer told me to do a leak off test, one faulty injector later runs as sweat as, you wont get the high pressure if its leaking back...

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

if he has a pressure sensor issue he wont read any pressure with diags,( and an immoberliser issue in the ecu) id go for the leak off test easy to do, its fuel air and compression despite all the sensors

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

but that will only tell him he has a pressure problem which he already knows

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

he needs the right software for that, besides hes already been told theres no pressure, just hasnt diagnosed were its going, becoming a shot gun repair ( unnessesery ecu mod )

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

there are lots of reasons why you cant register fuel pressure, the imoberliser isnt one of them, there are 3 pumps in the system any of which could cause no fuel pressure then there is the fuel pressure relief (mechanical and not monitored) and faulty injectors, the fact you have a code from the...

diesel is crank disabled, petrol is fuel disabled

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

i had just one faulty injector which prevented the fuel rail from getting to pressure, no pressure and ecu doesnt fire injectors
  18. badfluffy

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

you dont need to have it running just cranking for a leak off test, there are plenty of utube videos on how todo it plus a leak off kit on fliebay is about £35
  19. badfluffy

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

i would do a leak off test before doing the fuel sensor as a faulty injector stops it starting ( and if it was cranking it wasnt the immobiliser)

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

there is a whole sequence of events that have to happen before the diesel will start (cant say about the petrol) any one of which would stop the starter from working
