Yes KpA. LP generally stays at same value (unless the pump is knackered). HP should be around 28000 at tickover, but rises to over 100000 at high engine load & revs. Plenty of KPA to PSI or BAR converters online, so just let us know what your diagnostic says. 28000 KpA is about 4000psi...

My Merc C180 Coupe gauge is quite good & seems to be within a few degrees of the OBD value. Totally agree on the uselessness of most car gauges. Many don't have one at all anymore. Just before I fixed the thermostat !! Now sits a smidge above 80 mark.

I had the "1190 fuel rail plausibility" on my son's 2004 TD4 recently. Turned out to be the new fuel rail pressure sensor we fitted had failed. Car would go into limp mode every time we accelerated hard or uphill. Put the original back on, and all sorted. Diags on live data should show...

My two P38's definitely sound different, but MOT testers & me have never checked noise levels. The Blue P38 has single back box & does sound noisier, but no one has ever complained. Ran it once after the engine rebuild with CAT's off, which turned a few heads but no complaints !!

But at what engine revs ?? Surely all vehicles are noisier above tickover ?

Normally you just "Uninstall Device". The driver you need is probably the VCP which means Virtual Com Port.

Position wise, on a P38 it's where the cam sensor usually goes, but they normally have 3 wires. Maybe that one is grounded through it's case ?

You definitely need to check the actual cable hardware in Device Manager. Although you selected FTDI, that does not confirm the cable is that type.
