Looking like IID Tool was able to clear the faults. Will keep an eye for the moment but it's achieved more than a few code readers have managed to do. Also turned off cold monitoring of the bulbs (hopefully) so will see what happens there. Although not got the option to flash the lcm firmware...

It's YWC500281 HW:07/SW:2.1 which looking at google results suggests it's about right. The VIN coded in is correct as well. Reading round a few BMW sites suggests it backs up the configuration file and uses this if the primary file fails. Wondering if the eeprom that stores said info is duff...

Not sure about previous owners replacing it but there's no tamper dot on the display. The fact the lights flicker with the bulb test suggests it's intended for normal incandescent bulbs so I'm thinking it is original.

Hi Guys 2006 L322 Vogue TD6 Got an odd one here. I have tried searching but only seem to find a thread about coffee and walnut cake and lemon drizzle from a few years back. Got 20 fault codes permanently stored in the LCM which I cannot clear off. The odd bit is everything seems to work...

Just got a million error codes saying lights that are working aren't etc. Not massively fussed but it offends my OCD 😂

Probably not use to you but I managed to get the ecu comms issue sorted. For me it was the steering lock module causing issues on the data bus.

Well, finally figured it all out. Got trailered back to Oxford last night and spent the day messing about. There seemed to be a few issues all rolled into one. Exactly which one was the cause I don't know. The steering lock was duff, managed to get one from the breakers yard and swapped it...

Pretty much abandoned for now, will try the coil in the morning and if that fails steal a family members car for the weekend and get the AA to drag it home Monday if they will.

Battery was off for about an hour and tried shorting the leads as well. Did that as I was pulling the steering column out.

Been playing a lot lot more but still no idea. Voltage at the switch appears to be correct so pretty happy that's OK. Put everything back together and still can't turn the key. It's looking like the immobiliser isn't being turned off, ie not reading the key. Reading data off the steering lock...

Hi guys Drove 200 miles last night, parked up and came out to it this morning and it's a non starter. Couldn't turn key in ignition. Thought steering lock so tried the fuse 18 trick, no joy. Accessed the lock, removed the plate, wd40 and tap, no joy. Got ignition switch out, removed solenoid...

That's messed up. Oil burners are supposed to be stronger and more resilient than petrol as well.

like the l322 😂 I know, was just saying lecky fans usually don't kick in til over 100° easy, one of my cars does lo at 105 and hi at 112. 95 isn't a problem. This talk makes me wonder if the lecky fan connector on the l322 actually works now 🤔

Most ECU controlled electric fans don't kick in til 105° or so. So long as the needle doesn't climb, I'd give it a damned good ignoring.

Well that's 6 shortish trips done today and every time it has started as expected and ran faultless by land rover standards so pretty safe to say it's an issue with the tank pump as it seems to be level related. Will keep an eye on it but at this point pretty sure it's a done deal so will order...

At least it saves me having to speak to her indoors
