Right yes that's very helpful actually, the two contacts! I just found a twin filament bulb, put it in the top light slot (left light cluster), and suddenly that light worked as both light and brake light. However, I now have no brake light on the right! I guess the bottom light also needs...

Sorry, 1997. I did check in halfords and on a bulb website a minute ago, both said for my year 382 bulb is the right one. The bulb holders have got 3 like sticky out bits in a triangle, which slot into the light. It might well be knackered holders then I guess, I did have a right p!ss...

Especially as I've got a 20 mile journey home full of traffic, with potentially only the top centre brake light.

Went to Halfords, checked their log thing and bought 2 x #382 single filament bulbs - which it says is right for brake light, and also right for tail light. Yesterday I had no left brake light, and no left light. Changed the top (light) bulb. Then had no brake lights on either side...

I realise this will probably result in some p!ss taking but... I've just noticed my car's creating shiny oily puddles underneath in the rain. Is this petrol or engine oil, would you think?
