    Tyres

I had scorpions S/T's on my P38 for years , not a bad tyre. The STR's are crap though so stay well clear, really bad tramlining. I've switched to Toyo Open Country A/T's last time round and I'm really happy with them, think they are well ahead of the Pirelli's and cheaper too.

Thinking of selling my Faultmate FCR ????

Ahem, foot , gun, shoot!! If you're strapped it might make more sense to sell the Rangie:eek::eek: You bought the FCR to save you money, in the long run it undoubtedly will so unless you've got a buddy nearby who can read faults for free it won't make that much economic sense to sell the FCR.

What sort of symptoms have you seen associated with EGR Wammers?

    M51 lumpy running

I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to use a petrol pump to pump diesel. Can't remember why but when I was looking for an inline pump for my mini digger I finallly got one in a ships chandlers. The guy had both but warned me to get the diesel one as he said the petrol one would fail sooner...

    2.5 bmw diesel vs td6 ?

I love the idea of the engine, its a gem of an engine too but I really don't like the chassis mods to take the D3 engine mounts. They've just about halved the strength of the chassis rails. I know there isn't much going on forward of the strut mount but its still responsible for chassis...

smart phone app for eas unlock???

When EAS Unlock was being developed originally they had it running on one of those Palm or Compaq hand held jobbies so its not that far off the mark. Symbian phones were built off Psion OPL language. I had a long look at programming the code for a Psion but ran out of time and bought a Kicker...

    Diesel tuning, taken further...

:D:D:D I feel your pain Wammers, don't worry though the thread title will keep most of the petrol heads skimming over it with glazed eyes as they go off to help the next fella whose V8 is running crap on LPG cause he's trying to get diesel economy out of a 60 year old engine design :p:p:p

    Diesel tuning, taken further...

Ade, you're not going to win much support as a newbie having a go, rightly or wrongly, at one of the most senior members on here. While I feel Wammers was a bit OTT in his initial comment, you have to understand his frustration. He's got near on 9000 posts, 10% of which will be slagging off...

I'd take off the wheel and check to make sure the bolts holding on the caliper are still there.

Right then! - It's home......and all is it not as it seemed..

Wouldn't quite agree with that. Yes it is off-road that they will be most beneficial (with a longer stroke shock) but if you believe the bumf they have a rising rate piston stroke as opposed to the OE which has falling rate. This is supposed to give better dive charateristics under braking. Does...

Right then! - It's home......and all is it not as it seemed..

I definitely wouldn't shell out on Gen 3's at this stage. Don't get me wrong, they are excellent but you've paid £400 for your RR. With RR's, and life in general, you get what you pay for. I'd just check out the 4 bags that are under it and as long as they are not totally ripped I'd even...

P38 Removable Winch Setup Now Available !!

Nice Job 996!!! I definitely think this is the best solution for a P38 winch, far better than the OE winch mount which permanently robs the vehicle of approach angle. It also means you don't have to lug the winch around for the 99% of time that its not going to be required. My own setup...

EAS Kicker Lite!! Nice little bonus. check it out here: https://blackbox-solutions.com/shop/ It resets any faults in the EAS air suspension. The fact that its still there means someone failed to fix the EAS. That dosen't mean it can't be fixed, just that someone gave up. If you're prepared...

    electric range rover

I'm sorry Data but I'm going to have to call you out on that. There are no and I mean no diesel car engines running at more than 50% let alone 80% efficency. The static turbines using combined cycle generation are the most efficent IC engines on the planet right now, They do approach 80%...

    performance boost

I've driven quite a few and some are real dogs some are not. I fixed the air suspension on one a few months ago that was quite possibly the slowest car I've ever driven. My auto is not too bad, I'm quite happy with how it gets about but it won't set the world alight. Seanmull here has one...

When was P38 facelift / differences between diesels

Swapping manifolds might not be so easy. There are different bolt patterns between at least some (if not all) of the plastic and metal manifolds.

When was P38 facelift / differences between diesels

HEVAC, heated seats and sunroof were available as an option on the DT, things like cuise control, trip computer and electric seats were not. I guess there are no hard and fast rules, the only truly distinguishing mark being whether you have a high or low line BECM.

    Disco 3 query

A friend of mine is looking at buying a commercial Disco 3 over here. The deal he's being offered is ridiculously good, about €6,500 for a slightly damaged 55,900km 2007 example. Panel damage is a beat up rear quarter, like some reversed hard into a wall. The tailgat still opens fine but a...
