Morning all, After 115,000 miles my clutch is getting at bit noisy first thing in the morning and now the weather is warming up I'm planning to drop out the gearbox and fit new... DMF Clutch cover and plate. Crankshaft, gear box, and gear box to transfer box oil seals. Spigot bearing...

Happens on mine occasionally. Never thought anything of it.

A blocked CAT was the cause on my 2003. Diagnosed by putting a boost gauge on the inlet manifold. Only boosting at 10 PSI. Seemed fine until you got to 60, then ran out of go. No guts in CAT now :)

Big bit of stirling board and £5 popup tent:)

A good squirt from underneath on all the linkages with WD40 usually makes mine more cooperative, especially if its not been used in a while...

The water was getting in there through the ill fitting pipe work between the wing grill and the airbox. I would guess that if you sealed all the joints, as others on here have, you'll be ok. The original pipe work is of a stunningly low quality, poor fitting joints - thin flexible plastic, that...

Had the same thing on my 110 TD5. I finally concluded that it was water in the airbox, although the tide mark in there was a bit of a give away. Anyway no more trouble having fitted a snorkel and no more tide marks :D

Interesting point, hadn't really considered that. Although I did do the injector seals and washers about 20k ago when it was smoking at idle...

Saw those kits,,, having taken apart one of my old ones I can't see how you can access the worn parts without machining it open (which I did). Anyone had success with them?

Morning all, Sorting out an MOT fail leaking steering pump I have noticed that the FPR is leaking again. This will be my third in 105K miles, They are quite expensive and I'm quite tight. Is this the sort of lifespan for this component that I should expect? How long have you had out of...

Costs 1 text whenever you ask for a position or status. I use gifgaf, can be managed from your mobile. Position the GPS ariel close to a window, works good where I am. So far I have found it a bit flakey, it stopped recieving GPS data for a while, after a look see it started working again...

There's no vacuum in the airbox on an unthrottled (Diesel) engine, at least not enough to measure with my Nanocom. Have been running it a year or so now and no issues to report, no sign of oil from breathers into airbox.

I have pretty much done as Brown describes above, the original pipework would need a good few tubes of mastic to get it close to sealing. There is an oblong slot in bottom of the bellhousing on my TD5, so no drain plug...still mulling over how best to address this. There is also a drain thingy...
