Totally,If I was going abroad or doing some heavy overlanding I would fit the viscous back on in a heartbeat. I do think there might be more going on to Stu's than just needing an upgrade or new fan,but if it went back to normal it might just be the fan not locking properly.

I fitted a 14" electric fan on my 300,It was one of the cheap ebay ones.I was going to get an X-Eng thermostat for it,but to be honest I haven't used the fan yet. Sound likes there's more going on than just a dodgy viscous fan.

I think I would go green on the light plastics and black grill. Its going to be a marmite moment for everyone. Which one do you like the most?

Yep,exactly that. I made my own and to be fair I don't think it turn out bad for the price.

Diy grills look good if done right,but the saudi grills are mint:)

Silly question,but have you taken the split pin out? Mine was crudded up so much I couldn't get it out,so I had to hammer the socket on and use a breaker bar to snap it out.I think I used an imperial socket to get it out.The new one went on with an normal 30mm spanner and I've got a tank guard...

As said rust,boot floor,rear arches,front inner arches,door sills,to name a few. Make sure you get a drive or be driven in it. Check transfer box works ok,not the end of the world if its stiff. Give the wheels a wobble and rock the whole thing and listen for any untoward noises. Don't be afraid...

Im surprised matchams is back open. Is it under new management? They got realy ****ed of with the 4x4 plays day for chewing the site up. Was a good site,used to love the ski jump in my old series.

I had a similar problem,mine turned out to be a hair line crack in the expansion tank. You could only see it when it was up to normal running temp and under pressure. Glad i found it early,wouldn't of wanted it popping on me. As said now you know you have a problem,get it done now before it...
