    B + E Trailer Test

Boss only ever went to other farms in his Hilux for agri related work. He didn't abuse it by going to the shops in it. I'm fairly sure the distance you're allowed to travel is more than 1 mile too.

    B + E Trailer Test

Year - Before 2002 As for type approval, pass. We never had one but a couple of neighbouring farms had one. As did one of the local contractors. A fastrac is about the only tractor I never actually got behind the wheel of.

    hey from the highlands

Welcome to the LooneyZone. If there is only one piece of advice I can give, ever is to stay away from LPG :doh: I still have nightmares about it now. :(

    Running on red

We're talking 10 years ago since I was told this. Plus, what's to stop an unscrouplous dealer watering the stuff down a bit when they know it's going to be used in big engines/grain driers?

    B + E Trailer Test

28mph ;) As for a fastrac it's still classed as an agricultural vehicle and I'm not aware of any extra entitlements required on your licence to drive one. Lads younger than me on other farms drove them no prob.

    Running on red

Dunno about these days but delivery driver who delivered red to the farm told me it wasn't the same quality as white. Said red had a higher proportion of water in it as big engines can easily burn a bit of water. Was the same for the kerosene for the grain dryer, watered down more than CH oil...

    Dunno, never went.

But to be honest, which farm worker goes and does the full tractor test? I've never even heard of one. Anyway, I'm orf to me ****in' chariot.

    B + E Trailer Test

Really? didn't know that/ I was told once I passed me car test that was me fully licensed to drive tractors. On a provisional car licence you have the provisional tractor licence.

    Very true.

    B + E Trailer Test

A 40ft-er is 8ft wide:eek: Tractor was capable of the weight, 18T version of this Packed full of compacted silage straight out of the pit, onto a weigbridge and the whole outfit would be about the 43T mark and the tractor took it all in it's stride. And that was with a dodgy clutch.
  12. T

    B + E Trailer Test

Well technically once I passed me car test I could drive any agri vehicle. AFAIK there is no restrictions. The point I'm getting it as after I passed me car test I load up a 40ft er with half tonne bags of fert and drive on the road legally, yet I can't tow a couple of tonnes behind a...

    B + E Trailer Test

But even so, even at 17 I was still doing the same. If you drive 12 miles to the boat to pick up fertiliser at 27mph you make sure you have a full load. If I came back with half a load and there was more to collect I got shot. This was the tractor. No idea what the width of a 40ft trailer is.
  15. T

    Running on red

It wus only once, well twice as I wouldn't count squashing a car with a tractor an agricultural use. Was me birthday night out and me car wouldn't start when I went to leave work. Boss said "if you're driving to Aberdeen you're obviously not drinking" As I was working the next day I...

But if you did it retero fit and had receipts for the parts could you get LR or someone approved body to stamp out a new VIN?
  17. T

    B + E Trailer Test

Well, as pikey sez, 500kg load if trailer weighs 250kg Not much of a size of trailer at 250kg though.
  18. T

    Running on red

Dunno about tractors if there is limitation on them but I went to the pub in wun one night. Also used to take grain to the boats 12 miles away.

    What's a 110HD?
  20. T

    B + E Trailer Test

The test is pointless. At 16 I was entitled to drive agri vehicles on the road as long as I displayed L plates (gave up after a week as kept falling off) But many a time I would hitch on a 40ft trailer fully loaded up with half tonne bags of fertiliser And drive down down the main road...
