ok well i tried to get someone to do an engine swap but nobody wants to earn some money ??? so i decided to remove the head on the replacement engine i have. (h/g went on my k series 1.8 and cracked the head)and put it on my block.the engine i removed it from recently had the h/g done as well as...

Removing them. Just never done it before

The only bit I'm worried about is the gearbox and drive shafts....

A week then haha

I'm just a little un sure... Can't find a decent blow by blow description on Internet...

Just got a k series but it's out of an mgf.. The coil pack is on the back of the engine.. Not the front and there are two metal water pipes on the side.. On my hippo the pipes are different... Will this engine go in.. And will I have to modify a little

oh yeah lol sorry,its a 1.8 k series.i would do it myself but not quite sure what im doing.tea and coffee is always on tap but beer..hmmm cant encourage drink driving haha..

right guys.i have sourced a new engine.h/g done,timing done,new tensioner. all i have to do is fit it..dont suppose any of you mechanic types will give me a hand.i will pay you for your help obviously.im plannin g on getting an engine hoist next sat for the day.

Found out head cracked so car going to the scrappers... Can't source another one at a decent price.. Shame its really too good to scrap

It's the belt that was on when I got it. Had to do head gasket

Is there any tricks to getting this bloody tensioner to fit.. I know it has to be tight... I'm struggling to do it...

My cylinder head finally went for skimming today but its cracked... I need a head for my 1.8 k series non vvc this weekend to get the hippo mobile again... Otherwise I'm gonna have to scrap it... Which I really don't want to do... Help guys please.. Btw ill travel to collect

Mine has been converted to two wheel drive but was brilliant in the snow.. I live on a steep hill in hudds and mine managed it.. I now have a burnt out clutch and two bald tires but she got me home
