Lots of people recycle their used oil this way. I read recently that some commercial diesels are designed to burn their engine oil (a reservoir oil tank replaces the burnt oil).

If the tamper cap gets a little too distorted in the removal process, a 20mm rubber blanking grommet fills the hole nicely.

Also occasionally spray WD40 - the grill, light surrounds & mirror backs always look like new (also excellent for dash & instruments).

Had to make the very same decision last month; wife gave the green light to either a 110CSW or pick up. As much as I loved the look of the pick up I opted for a CSW with a Brownchurch roof rack - more seats and load capacity.

The new battery (fitted by the previous owner) in my recently purchased 1997 110 is rated at 550CCA & 68Ah. When the temps get below -5°c it really struggles to turn the cold engine over.
