Is your Defender your main vehicle?

Yes. Used to have a bike. I sometimes use a pushbike or my feet to get to work.

    4x4 breakers

No, I don't know it for a fact. Just as you don't know for a fact he will do it again, or it was more sinister than he claimed. I'm not saying he's an angel, just not in the same category as the other prick.

    found this on ebay

Theres a couple of L200s knocking about Northampton with tires like those. I just don't see the point.

    My new 110

Lol, not sure I'll e ver actually throw them away. Just keep them in reserve. I'm rubbish at throwing anything away!

ex MOD 110 - good or bad?

The 24v stuff is for all the radios and stuff the military use. You might be lucky and still have the fag lighter!

Those wheels, and calling it a jeep, are completely inexcusable!!!

    My new 110

When I can afford to start eating again I'll be looking for 6 steel wheels, rest assured!! I'd like 2 spares ultimately. Now I'm planning some short trips to get used to it and get some overland ideas. First up, gonna do UK (Northumbria, Scotland, Cumbria and Cornwall - not in the same trip)...

Where can i get a good recovery tow rope ?

I'll have two of those ropes!! I once saw a Range Rover (V8) tow a 30 tonne plus fully loaded HGV up a motorway exit slip. Impressive (anyone know j16 M1 - not the steepest I'm sure but far from shallow angle).

    My new 110

I bit the bullet and went for it. I take delivery in a little over a week. To say I'm excited is an understatement!!!!:D:D:D

    4x4 breakers

An HPI check wouldn't have shown up if the owner didn't report it stolen beforehand. And while the guy at Nene is guilty of an offence, it's mainly trying to cut corners to sell the car faster. Whilst I agree it is unacceptable, it's not like he's part of some major criminal network ringing...

    insurance query

Their answer is SORN. It's intended at the various people who routinely flout the law on insurance - the criminals in their pool cars, the disqualified driver who "just nip to the shops" etc. It may be inconvenient, but if you time your work on a vehicle right you can avoid losing money. It...

    Spring compressors

My rule with tools is to get the best I can afford at the time - they generally last longer. Other than that, they're much the same design wise.

    Parking censor: Disco 3

Make sure they're clean - can 'detect' from moisture or muck in my experience (mainly with BMWs at work). Sometimes they don't work well in the wet - you have to do it the old fashioned way then!

    tires....easy tigers!

I got the new General Grabber ATs fitted on mine and they seem superb so far. Great in the wet, and on the light 'greenlane' type routes I sometimes take. Cheaper than BFGs too, and should cope with anything you throw at them. Only done 500 miles on them, so not much more to report. Hasn't...

    £200 to replace fuel pipe

My father in law had this problem in a motor of his. He replaced the pipe, but before fitting he put a section of thicker pipe over the rubbing section as a shield. As a disclaimer, I think it may have been a turbo vacuum pipe in a Passat - may not apply in this case.

    Tyre Choice

I got the new ATs on my Disco. Seem really good to me - quieter than BFGs on road. Haven't noticed much economy difference from my old Michelins though, but then the old girl is getting on a bit now. They're fitted on my old Td5 Disco. Did a light green lane and coped with everything an AT...
