I think something like 2014 for a 'new' Defender. It's not just security, it's all stuff like pedestrian collision regs etc.

    Temporary spare wheel

A wading kit would have prevented the first. How do you maintain the 'fender? Do you have it serviced more regularly due to your heavy usage?

    Plus gas, GT85, WD40 - which one?

Spam!! You on a retainer? :nospamhere:

    Jap 4x4s Vs Defenders

http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/d90-vs-hilux-146530.html Clearly superior Japanese engineering! Mate has a Hyundai/Kia thing, big 4x4. Talking to him tonight - apparently it's got an automatic 4-wheel drive system - normally runs rear wheels only except when traction lost and fronts engage...

Pretty factual report. I can't see why we're all moaning - thefts won't rise much more than they already are (high) as those that nick them know what they're doing. Not many thieving chav scum watch Countryfile, and perhaps a bit more attention will force the police and LR to do a bit more to...

    D90 vs Hilux

Or just a 'modern' design that isn't up to the job.

Will the spacesaver cope with getting you out of a quarry? Stick with the original. I don't trust those spacesavers, and those cars that just have a tube of sealant -

    Terriferma, arb, mantec???

Pic worked  That's one hell of a bumper lol. Looks like you could hit just about anything with that and not suffer damage. Great looking bit of kit. I like Terrafirma, but prefer box section as more in keeping with original looks.

Puma - power failure. Any ideas??

Not all bad. Still handles better than an Insignia.

Puma - power failure. Any ideas??

The most recent V70 is a nail. We had some great 55 plates though!;)

land rovers A load of Crap

Just watched the video. 1, Can the Panda tow 3.5 tonnes? 2, Can it seat 5 in comfort, plus 2 big dogs and 5 shotguns? 3, Can it carry a tonne of payload? NO is the answer. Not comparing like for like. Go back from whence you came, wee troll.

Puma - power failure. Any ideas??

Not just 'fenders with dodgy build quality. We've had Volvos at work where every 10k miles the engine needs a rebuild, if that. One is on 17k and it's 4th major engine repair - if Volvo weren't so helpful (and it wasn't a fleet) they'd have been rejected for sure! The best, so far, is the BMWs...

    Strange lanny

Good job, good post. Please re-ring the police and ask if a patrol was sent to the area? It may be you/caller just hasn't been updated. And if it wasn't get on to your local community policing team - make your concerns their priorities. Rural crime needs attention!

    An odd disco auction

I'm suspicious about that shell thing too - looks too good to scrap! I'm also suspicious about why he would only want a phone number - what's wrong with 'Ask the Seller'? If it feels wrong, it probably is - report it in the sticky thread, and email AVCIS.

    Which colour Zu alloys?

    Gloss black IMO.

Puma - power failure. Any ideas??

Whilst the electrical stuff is only great when it works, I disagree. Just get it sorted by the dealer, or they'll either have to refund you or give you a nice shiny new Puma. I think, long term, Puma's are going to be sought after - my gut tells me they'll be more reliable long term than Td5s.

I have the original. I just push it down when I go laning!

    Jap 4x4s Vs Defenders

I'll wade in. Had a Japanese 4x4 at work, did a little light off roading in it. 1st trip out the rear bumper got caught on something and on of the brackets bent. The offender was a twig less than half an inch in diameter!! Secondly, it got stuck so many times. The car we always got it out...
