just replied and what happens now.

Enough. Why don't we just let this thread fade into history?!

What have you done to your Landie today.

Did a bit of off roading, and spent the day with great company!

Grumble only I when turn left

Same symptom I had with a wheel bearing. As above.

Just don’t know what to do – tyres

Get ATs now. I wholly recommend the new General Grabber AT - cheaper than BFG (although they have a great reputation). They do well on road, and you won't need a second set come winter.

Is a 110 Defender really the best Overland vehicle?

In terms of long term driver comfort - I fitted some Mud rails that moved my seat up and back. Now it's all day comfortable. I went from a D2 to the 110 too.

    Which 110 for future expedition

How about a utility station wagon? Best of both worlds. FWIW - I got a full SW - will be either tinting or mirroring back windows and fitting grilles for security. I need the extra seats from time to time.

Adding 2stroke oil to diesel, worth it or not?

I've done a bit of work with Customs & Excise - they have frighteningly broad sweeping powers (far more than the police) in this area. I once saw them seize every vehicle at a business (I think about 8) because one was dipped red. This could well have put them out of business in current...

rattle like towing an empty trailer

Mine rattles just the same. Sounds like it's coming from the rear. All arms/suspension tight, so will check heat shield/brake shields. I did wonder if the cat matrix had broken and was rattling?

    -2" suspension

20" at least, in polished chrome. Perhaps you'd be better off fitting anti roll bars and firmer suspension - you'll miss the ground clearance on the greenlanes.

    ##stolen## defender td5 galv!!!

He picked up lawn mower cable that had been cut. Perhaps his widow and daughter feel "unlucky" too. Still best to be safe around electricity. If I'm doing any wiring I always switch it off at the fuse box (or disconnect batteries etc) - I don't want to try my luck.

    Lexus LS430 AM02KMG

This is the favourite way to nick high end motors - Audi's seem to be a current favourite.

    WTF is a TD5 ?

Clarkson spouts twaddle - a Defender isn't made for going fast!! And I bet the TD5 would have towed his horses up that hill!

    de cat exhausts

And as for DPFs, days might be stretching it, but I've left a diesel BMW idling for about 6 hours - made a stink (after about 20 mins) and a right cloud when I took off again, but never seemed to affect anything negatively. I guess it's yet another EU emissions thing.
