Sounds like you may not have been pulling in a straight line, this can force the drum into the drive gear, there is a circlip holding the drive gear in place, and a retaining ring over the circlip, the retaining ring can get mashed as the drum is forced into it, so the drive gear floats back...

Bad news is: Sibbertoft is a bit too small for a full day out, it gets a bit repetitive after a couple of hours. Good news is: Yarwell is open instead :D (bout 30 mile east) Be very wary of the water, with all the rain it's very deep :eek: when it's as deep as now, be a follower not a leader :lol:
