Hey Same thing happened to me! Try this.... I blanked off the egr valve, put in 9 ltr diesel 3ltr veg oil, ran it empty, put on a new fuel filter filled with "diesel magic" then put in 10 ltr of v power and removed the air filter! It passed cold so the bloke said it would of done better hot...

I had this as a fail on my mot! I couldn't tighten the fitting any more so I undone it and put a bit ptfe tape on the threads and tightened back up....leak fixed!

It passed..... Wahey! Thanks everyone! The mot bloke said I got the emmissions down from 3.8 when it was hot to 2.1 when it was cold so all of the tips above really work! Big big thanks everyone!

Ah cheers it looks like the seal is leaking so I was going to try and drain it and stick in some one shot grease to try and hide the leak from the mot bloke! It looks like oil not grease......I wonder if it coming in from the diff or if someone has filled it with oil in the past??? Any thoughts?

Hey guys, looked at the guide for changing swivel housing oil and replacing it with one shot grease, but when Iv come to do mine I haven't got a drain plug ??? Iv got a filler but no drain.... Is there a different design?? It's a 300tdi defender!
