    300 TDI engine cutting out

The engine has cut out 5 times over the last few weeks, usually when driving slowly. It starts again after a while, sometimes it takes a minute or so. I've changed the fuel filter, checked the wire on the stop solenoid and made sure I'm not letting the fuel tank run too low. My next port...

    air suspension to spring conversion??

I've converted my soft dash to coils and don't regret it. Range Rovers were designed with coils, so I have no qualms about reverting to standard. It's a shame that so many people on here revel in ****ing people off. It's not big, it's not clever, a lot of you just come across as a bit of a ****.

    RangeR Rover autobox grating noise

I've just been for a spin, and it's not making as much noise. The box is changing up, but it's really reving in top, like it's still in third. I've got 750 tyres on Land Rover rims on it at the moment (it did have 205s before) to get it through the MOT. The air to coil conversion springs have...

    RangeR Rover autobox grating noise

By the looks of it, it's a bit of a pain to do, as mine's a V8. The exhausts got to come off and the chassis spread. My brother works in the car trade, and has access to a hydraulic body repair ram thing. Is this the sort of thing I need to spread the chassis? Could something have come adrift...

    RangeR Rover autobox grating noise

Looks like I'll be getting oily over the weekend- but not in a nice way!

    RangeR Rover autobox grating noise

I don't know when the oil was changed to be honest, as I only had it less than a year before the crash, would crappy oil cause this then? If so, do you think just changing the autobox oil would sort this?

    RangeR Rover autobox grating noise

I took my Classic for an MOT yesterday, which it passed with flying colours, after a slow front end re-build after driving through a fence two years ago. On the way there, there was a grating/whining noise from underneath that I initially put down to rusty discs, but the autobox didn't want...

    Heater blower resistor pack.

Mine only works on 1 and 4, and 4 only if it's in exactly the right spot. Bloody Land Rovers! I love 'em though.

Should 300TDi reach normal temp on idle?

I drove 140 miles today, up and down the M11. It included stop/ start driving in some hold ups and queuing for the bridge on the way back, as well as some fast stuff (70 only of course!) The needle didn't move past 9 'O clock on the gauge, in fact it didn't quite get there. No fan, no problem...

Should 300TDi reach normal temp on idle?

I took the viscous fan off my 300 TDI last week as it never got up to temperature, and the heater took ages to chuck out anything. The viscous unit was OK by the way. Since I took it off, the Discovery runs much better, the engine gets almost to temp (never even gets to 9 O clock on the gauge)...

Range Rover axles into a 110?

I'm slowly doing up a Hi Cap pick up and the front axle's pretty crappy. Can I fit the axle from a Range Rover Classic that I have? It has good balls and seals and vented discs, which will obviously improve the braking, especially as one day it'll have a 3.9 V8 under the bonnet with an auto box...

how do i remove me cooling fan??

It all depends if it's a Serpentine belt or old fashioned V belt. If it's got a Serpentine belt, it's a RIGHT hand thread, as my brother found out when he was trying to get mine off. Chisel and large hammer did it in the end, but it was a bugger, as he'd been tightening it up before he found out.

    Rusty Stainless exhaust

The Rimmer Brothers 'stainless' sports exhaust on my Range Rover Classic looks the same as the one in the photo. It IS stainless, but a pretty poor grade. The only bits that's still shiny are the silencers and tailpipe.

    V8 oil light staying on

I feel like it sometimes! With the hardware I've got, I could make quite a mess of them. Now, back to my oil light.

    V8 oil light staying on

I got my old 3.9 going yesterday. It's been sitting for over a year, and started OK after the petrol had got through from the tank. The only trouble is that the oil warning light is staying on. I don't want to rev it too much with the hope of it going out, as I could damage the engine. Could the...

    Swivel ball seal

I cut the seals years ago for a IIA rebuild. I just sealed them at the top with a blob of silicon. They didn't leak in 8 years, so I guess it's OK...

    10, 12 or 19J?

It's the pump that's connected to the injectors via the 4 metal pipes.
