    yeah the plug/spade connector plug. If your in any doubt about the alternator output you local motor factors wil check it for you for about a £5. If you have shorts on the wiring is the battery going flat ? if the wires were shorting to earth there would be a massive drain on the battery...

    Strangely enough it was a landrover parts company on ebay. If the alternator is only producing 12 volts at the battery but 14.4 at theback of the alternaotr i would be checking the wiring between the alternator and starte, cleaning up the terminals on leads on the starter to see if that helps...
