Yup, really bad news, my 95 Disco has failed the MOT... List of failures N/S Track rod end has excessive play.... That's it, not bad going this year i think :rolleyes:

every engine has it's problem, its taken 8 months of work on my 300tdi to undo 8 years of neglect. I know it's not had any fresh oil in 4 years... With the 1.8 freelander, my step dad owned one, had 3 head gaskets done in 9 months. A work mate also has one, from the look of the works receipts...

of course, you could couple 4 together 4 x 25% saving means your car would run on air using no fuel at all... Can't get cheaper than that.

mine is 197,500 on the clock, 209,600 on the car. (had to change dash clocks last month)

I had this problem with my D1 200, ended up running a new return (Earth) from the head light to the body.

mine faces forwars, because I bought it second hand and thats the way it was on and i can't be arsed to turn it round.

I carry a "box" of spares just in case, belts, water pump etc when on long trips, never occurred to me to carry a spare tensioner. Have a spare pully and bearing kit now so naturally, it'll never go again now.

Friend had his through the floor on his 200. Don't forget to unbolt it to check it, when my front prop went the shaft felt solid and at first i didn't think there was anything wrong with it, one off it was obvious where the fault was.

two 740s and a 480.

Brand new battery fitted last week, also tried shunting batteries 2 & 3 into the circuit so it's not a power issue.

at the moment, turns over and won't fire. As its turning it's drawing fuel, you can see it in the inline filter, stop cranking and the fuel drains away

Hoping someone can help. Just replaced the fuel filters on my 300TDi Auto (non-EDC). I say filters as i have a second "inline" filter between main filter and pump and the plastic pipe is now rubber as the plastic line split not long after i got it. Been a bit low on power recently until...

I wouldn't worry lol, I found out, when i took my disco for a timing belt at a garage in Scunthorpe they found a wading plug in it, now it pre dates my ownership, and the previous owner (work mate) so it's been in there for over 4 years! Not surprisingly the housing was flooded with oil. Guess...
