    Aftermarket TPS

Hi guys, I have a 1999 4.6 Thor V8 on which I replaced the original BOSCH TPS with a £25 variant from JGS 4x4 when hunting down a problems I had which is now finally fixed, it wasn’t the TPS at fault. However, now the car seems to judder and almost loose power momentarily while accelerating...

Hi all, sorry for going AWOL been a busy week. So I have the car back up and running, I took a known to work MAF and placed it on and she seems to be running near perfect however she still has a slight rough idle to her. I have looked at the live day and the O2 sensor values on the DS don’t seem...

okay, I will see how to isolate the LPG system and see if that makes a difference. Fingers crossed. I checked for a healthy spark from the plugs and they all seem to be sparking well and right up until the engine stalls. At a lose really now spent nearly 600£ in the last couple of weeks...

My system is fitted with an emulator pack just to the right of the engine. When the LPG tech was out he believed it to all be working. Do you think it’s worth getting him back out to inspect it and see?

I will give this a go and see if it makes a difference, I’m assuming I should start by un plugging them before the cats first and then after? Or does it not matter

The rocker cover gaskets we split in places but the covers themselves are in good condition as are the pipes coming from them. i have unplugged the MAF and tried to start it and it just won’t start but I did read somewhere the the Bosch engines won’t start with the MAF unplugged. I haven’t...

When I come to think about it when I had it running on petrol they’re would be smoke rings coming from the exhaust but only on the left side looking from the back of the car and the right side had barley any visible smoke. The left side smoke steam was also very inconsistent. Does that go inline...

I’ve looked under the chassis behind and in front of the air tank and all I can see is the EVAP canister. No sign of any fuel filter

Oh right I didn’t know that. My LPG tech seemed to think you couldn’t do it in the PRINS VSI systems. Just waiting for my booster pack to finish charging and then will give it a go. Cheers ant

Okay I will have a look for the filter. I was always told only the GEMS came with a fuel filter and not the THOR. I know the EVAP unit is behind the air tank so I will have a look for the filter now. If that’s all it is I’m going to kick myself. I know the LPG trims are okay as it was re tuned...

Hi Ant - great to see you here. Unfortunately I have the PRINS system, the only system on the market to not enable you to force start on LPG. As you can see the list of repairs is extensive and I’m getting rather frustrated with the old girl

I assumed the plugs were getting a good spark as when it would start up and switch over to LPG it would be fine but now it won’t actually start. I will post a pic of the spark plugs I took out. According to the garage that tested the fuel pressure for me yes it maintained pressure in the rail.

No there’s no throttle response before/as it’s stalling

Pressure in the rail stays at 3.5 bar. I was lead to believe these vehicles were fitted with a fuel filter!

Hi guys new here and my first post. My beloved P38 has developed a fault in which she wont start. She will turn over fire up for maybe 5 seconds most and then die.
