Getting Dexron III ATF not a problem but right now all I have available to put in the gearbox is either the Dexron III or GL-5 gearbox/diff oil. Reading this thread (and others around the net!) I am confused about which would be better to top up the gearbox, I will do a full gearbox oil change...

Hi all, need to check and maybe top up the oil in my transfer box and manual gearbox. The filler for the gearbox is hard to get to - I need to somehow squirt the oil into it - are there any crafty tools or homebrew solutions for doing this? Cheers Jerry

Mine is a manual, averages 25mpg mainly A/B road driving usually with a bit of towing thrown in, will do high 20s on a run, never quite made it to 30mpg.... I am firmly of the opinion having seen other similar threads on here that the fuel saving from choosing a manual is negligible HTH...
