I would say it's the mechanism inside, it mite just need a good clean, or something is loose. Take the door card off and have a look see. I had a similar problem, but mine was the barrels.

PM'd GRUNT Well if this is the part It's only £11 Mail Order 4x4 Defender Lamps However I'm not sure I need it. I just connected the battery put the ignition on and my lights now turn on and off. :D Only 1 headlight comes on with high beam though, but I'm sure this part isn't actually needed.

No HID's. :D It's a 200TDI defender 1990. It's got Wipac headlights. Headlights are permanently on, unplugging this makes them go off, so I think it's broken.

Can anyone identify this part? It's got something to do with the headlights. Cheers.

Similar problem to me. If I put my indicators on then press my foot on the brake the indicators go off. Also rear lights flash. :(

So new gearbox time?

I'm still new to Landy's and off roading so help is appreciated. I can go 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th fine but when I go down the box 5th 4th 3rd I have to basicly stop to get it into 2nd gear. It's a 1990 200TDi It's making turning into junctions quite difficult. Cheers guys.

£70 Now it's just a case of finding the time to take it back. I'd rather not name and shame just yet, until it's resolved. It's not been a good time lately for good car mechanics a lot of places we have used for years have gone south.

My brother said it will be a bad earth too, it's just getting him to take a look at it. Got another auto electrician lined up although the one I took it too has been good in the past.

I took it to an auto electrician because the lights didn't work that was sort of fixed, they now stay on permently so I've gotta use my battery kill switch when I turn the engine on. Also when I indicate left it will blink fast and the rear indicator doesnt blink, instead the rear brake and reg...
