    Why would you assume all 8 injectors need replacing? Or for that matter why 2 would need replacing. I can't see as they'd wear, so perhaps you just need em cleaned. I might be talking bollox though. I know little about lpg systems.

    I think poor oil pressure might give that effect. Is it worse hot or cold? What grade oil do you use. Maybe thicker would help.

    There is a vacuum pipe to the egr solenoid and and of course onto the egr valve. I think it'll be the egr solenoid you're seeing next to the egr on the manifold. I guess the powerbox was just teed into the wrong pipe on the old car. As wammers said, bet it didn't work great! it would use leccy...

    if its that bad, sounds like you've got no turbo boost. You could try disconnecting it at the manifold and see if it gets worse. If it doesn't, then you know where to look.

    I've certainly managed to create those symptoms before on mine by putting the fip top on in the wrong place. Was any work at all done to it between it working well and developing these symptoms?

    I dont think slackening the cable is a natural consequence of reading: "Cable adjustment should not be used to take up brake shoe wear " If you're just plugging through the manual following the instructions, that sentence only leads you to not adjust the cable to take up wear...

    The remote is really simple inside, like a couple of chips, the led and the battery. My remote packed up like yours and it was just the battery holder solder joint had broken. Well worth a look if you're remotely practical.

    I dont know if its possible to turn alarm off without the remote. Do you know whats wrong with the remote? They're pretty simpe so perhaps worth taking apart and checking for broken solder joints etc

    Lack of compassion does seem a common problem with the p38. Even pity for the owners would be a nice gesture. But no. A reliable tester for this would surely be a boon for prospective owners.

    but isn't the high compression still unexplained? doesn't seem wise to slap it back together again without getting to the root cause.

    Mine is def more responsive without egr. I removed the lot. Will be interesting if mot station wants to assert that m51 engine in rrc had egr in standard fitment and fail me :)

    I think wammers has it. But another possibility is bushes not assembled correctly. There must be no movement there, or there'll be an amount of undamped movement. I had this problem and bought new dampers all round only to discover the old dampers were ok and the bushes knackered or not done up...

    Could it also be low fuel level and split pipe in pump? Do you have these probs with a full tank?
