    glad to hear it!
  4. jonbill

    Love it.

I'm probably outnumbered here, but a v8 doesn't sound as good as a proper screaming straight 6. (and I'm not referring to the M51!)

    juddering

I think quite a few engine problems only show up under load - so surely smooth engine without load doesn't prove drive problems? I'd expect sound of the engine as you drive would give clue as to whether engine problem or drive - if engine sound smooth and constant with throttle position and...

    P38 2.5DSE - BMW 325TDS, engine swap?

as I noted in the link, it was others on here that shared their knowledge. I bought the seal from FastLine group in Northampton. I think it was £2.11. I had to give them the FIP part number - there are 3 variants:0460406993 xxxx994 xxxx995 I think, and they emailed me a PDF of the parts...

    P38 2.5DSE - BMW 325TDS, engine swap?

I posted some pics and stuff I learned when I had the same problem as you. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/fixed-my-diesel-fuel-injection-pump-126745.html The seals in the FIP are available from Bosch diesel agents, AND you have to position the top half in just the right position.

    Black deisel

I think the customs and excise thing is that you can't run any fuel on the road that hasn't had the duty paid. Red Diesel is just one example of duty-not-paid fuel. Not sure if homebrew biodiesel has some explicit legal exception to this?

Not a great day - more new problems than solved ones! Wet footwells - why??

well... on my classic, my wet front carpets came from rust holes behind the side panels, just in front of the doors. there's a little plastic extension of the wheel arch cover that was probably designed to stop water going up there, but on mine they just retained a 1/2 pound of permanently wet...
