    Fuel consumption is worse now, 57 miles per quarter of tank, starting to f**k me off!!! Had hdc and tc light come on dash this morning.     The old one is back in and it as been cleaned, it's running better so can't b all that bad, and its only til after Christmas when I go ooop narth n get access to cheap parts

    Had a good day today. Started with removing the synthetic sleeve that is fitted around the air filter as it was filthy, and its made a difference to performance, not much but a little, more responsive under foot. Hopefully it will improve fuel economy but too soon to tell at the moment. I...

    So I think I may have found A solution to the fuel issue, I've removed the synthetic sleeve that is fitted around the air filter (which was filthy), refit the filter and took it for a spin. It seems to be running a lot smoother now, too soon to tell but I dare say it will improve fuel economy...

    That's cool so it will do no harm taking it off then? I think it might improve the fuel economy coz like I said its grafted and my b struggling to breath

    Also, a quick one about the air filter, what is that fitted cover over the filter itself? Does it need to b there? I only ask coz it is grafted, n I think washing it in any way will distort its shape.:confused:

    if i do the wheel test, it moves i take it that its a good thing? and if it doesnt move, bad thing? (seized) was travelling between 40 and 50 mph.

    I was under the impression it only mainly got hot when under load? I.e loss of traction for example? Causing the fluid to go gel like and stiffen up transfering the drive to the rear wheels. Driving normally (even though in 4wd) predominately use 2wd right? Forgive my ignorance, as I said...
