Soft dash 1994 3.9 Auto - diagnostic port

Didn't see it behind the drivers seat but I will have another look. The above pictures show the lead that goes back on itself and the plug in port I found has 3 wires, not 2. The snap-on kit plugs in to the one with 3 wires when you un-plug the one with one wire, which makes a circuit for ...

    1994 3.9 Soft dash - central locking cock-up

Looked at C7 fuse, which is supposed to be the one for central locking, perfect. I honestly don't know if there's a separate immobiliser on the central locking, (it's got a separate immobiliser but that's on ignition only). Not had a problem like this before as the car is a recent acquisition...

1994 Soft Dash 3.9 Autobox oil level

Thanks Datatek, I've appreciated your advice in the past so I'll try this next time I'm up at the farm where it's currently 'stored'

    1994 3.9 Soft dash - central locking cock-up

Hi, the central locking wasn't working on the o/s passenger door so I tried to trace the problem (as all idiots do!) and found that a feed for the n/s door got it to work so, I bypassed the old wiring from car to door and put 2 temporary wires in attached to the old plugs. OOOppps, the old wires...

Soft dash 1994 3.9 Auto - diagnostic port

Hi, my old Snap-On Solus Pro has a Land Rover port (LR1) that plus in to my cars diagnostic point but, the screen says there's no power from the vehicle so it can't work. I can't find a picture of a 'live' one anywhere, I think I've managed to put pictures of mine on. Any ideas what's missing or...

1994 Soft Dash 3.9 Autobox oil level

Hi, has anyone a definitive answer I wonder. The workshop manual says get the oil warm, go through the box several times (handbrake on!) and the check level with box in neutral. The handbook says start in park, leave in park and check while cold. The dipstick says check when cold with box in...

    Smokey V8

Well still alive so back again. Managed to get redex in the bores 6 weeks ago so it had plenty of time to do it's stuff. Together with new plugs, leads, cap, coil etc. the combination appears to have worked, she fired up, smoked a bit but has now settled down almost smoke free :) (after having a...

Made me smile again, thank you! The foxes had most of his chickens so the gun is always 'handy' therefore I might be taking flowers to my own funeral (he's a great believer in 2 sayings 1) shoot first ask questions later, 2) dead men can't tell tales), it is a shame about not being able to leave...

The only working girls I see at the moment are rather woolly, it's now lambing time and the farm where my car is is now strictly OOB (out of bounds) as my mate the farmer never knows where he'll be needed (the sheep are everywhere). So, the old girl will have to sit it out like the rest of us...

Thanks for making me smile Henry_b, it's not going at all at the moment as I'm trying desperately to stay at home, however, that said, I've spoken to the farmer whose yard the car is in, and he's ok with me going over, he stays well clear and so I meet precisely no-one, the only other fly in the...

Thanks lads, slight further problem, it's on my mates farm and I'm not supposed to travel, I think it's 'vital' and I don't see anyone (apart the farmer occassionaly) but whether Mr. Plod would agree, hmmmm......................................

Petrol gauge warning light was on so 5 gallons of fresh put in. The smoke didn't seem excessive when I started it on first inspection (never over revved as it was in a tight confined space, not taken for a run as I wasn't buying a pristine car, it was bought on the understanding it had been...
