    repalced brake cylinder

Its still worth checking the shoe adjusters. If one shoe is backed off, then your first two pumps are going to be moving it towards the brake drum, and only the third one doing the actual braking.

LWB twin leading shoe front brakes.

I had another tip from spitfiremk1 the other day. Instead of pushing with a screwdriver, use a large set of plumbers pliers or mole grips to grab the non-piston end of the shoe and lever it in that way. Less chance of slippage and black eyes.

It was the fronts. I had a leaky wheel cylinder, so changed that and replaced the soaked shoes. It was Mintex shoes and a Lucas cylinder. Should be setting off in 1/2 an hr so see you there

I was trying very hard not to trap my fingers, so when I slipped I moved my hands out of the way as quick as I could, so I wasn't leaning on anything anymore and toppled over face first. :o This was Easter weekend, at least its fading now.

    New series 3 owner.

Hello If you're in 4th gear and want to change up, this is when you need to use the overdrive. Clutch down, engage the lever, clutch up - just like you are changing gear on the main box. My 109 will do about 60mph in 4th and I can get up to about 70 with the overdrive if I'm feeling brave. Your...

LWB twin leading shoe front brakes.

I did the fronts Easter weekend. Haynes suggested this: 1) Fit the retaining spring while the shoe is still loose 2) Fit the cylinder end of the shoe (i.e. top on the front facing shoe, bottom on the rear facing one) 3) Where the backing plate and the tang that goes into the non-cylinder end...

    Smiths round heater leak

Hello My Heater (smiths round type) just sprung a leak. I've seen replacement ones for £200 which seems a bit steep. Anyone know where I could get a recon one from or get mine refurbished? I know about stuff like radweld, but I'd prefer a proper fix I've got the heater matrix out and...

    USB charging tip...

Apple stuff is a bit more complicated. I've put a USB charger in my dash using a 5v regulator and the pins shorted out as above and it charges everything perfectly apart from apple stuff - you just get 'charging is not supported n this accessory device' or something. It turns out that you need...
