Hubs are fine - this prob is when I am stationary so hub/disc wobble not really an issue, it just feels like a minor fluid leak as pedal slowly goes down under moderate peddle pressure with the engine running, with no servo working, pedal feels rock hard

yes - vacuum pump is working ok - i took pipe off and stuck part of my anatomy over the end - good suction!!

Ive just bought a seal kit for the steering pump for my early 90. Ive got the pump off but how does it come apart? Is it easiest just to pull the pulley of and replace the lipseal ? thanks steve

Thanks Grunt - mines just ot a brass plug rather than a screw and locknut but there is no spring beneath. As you suggested ive had it apart, greased the spring in the plunger ( i found out that the jiggly bit in the selector has a nylon bush when i warmed it up lol) greased my ball so to speak...
