I’m guessing to replace the band is a specialist job and not for a diy on a drive

Freelander 1 Automatic Gearbox and Solenoids (Td4)

I haven’t touched any bolts, oil was changed about three years ago. I was doing a three point turn and it all became interesting all of a sudden, no bangs or thuds, just a lot of revs :(

Freelander 1 Automatic Gearbox and Solenoids (Td4)

Hello, I have read various posts on this forum and others about the woes of the automatic gearbox on the Freelanders. Mine seems to have a kind of common fault where it lost reverse gear and just revs up like if it was in neutral. The oil change was carried out about 3 years ago (30000...

    Rear parking sensor sounder

All sorted, 2nd hand ecu and sounder arrived today. First attempt of plugging in my old ecu with the new sounder and bingo it works. So new sounder on, and all put back together and have a spare ecu for it.

    Rear parking sensor sounder

Managed to buy both for £40 all in, so fingers crossed, if it works when they are both installed, may play about a bit and see which one had the fault. Of course if nether work, must be a wiring issue. If thats the any case any known areas of concern that I could check first just.

    Rear parking sensor sounder

Got both the ecu and sounder out ok. Sounders are about £25 and ecu is around £50, was seeing if there was a way to test the sounder. Ecu looks complex inside.

    Rear parking sensor sounder

I know this is an old post, but it’s the exact same fault I have had. Is there a known area in the wiring that could cause the fault. I have no sound from th sounder at all, all four sensors on the bumper give out a clicking sound, and the amber light on the switch does flash. I guess there...

Ah that explains how mine switches off as normal without the plunger in the stop solenoid, always did confuse me, as never expected that.

Bit of a long shot, and I doubt it will work but worth a try. Try holding both buttons down on the key fob for 10 seconds, then see if it starts. I doubt it will work, but its an easy try, just read that someone tried this and it worked, but don't know if it the same fault as we have had.

    Disco 1 300tdi EDC 1997 without a Spider Security

It used to have that fault. Mine is an automatic with the EDC system. On this version the fourth injector (one closest to the windscreen) has a wire coming from it, and inside this injector there is a sensor, it was this sensor that was faulty and caused the starting issue on mine. Only way...

Hello, In the end an independent Land Rover Specialist, used their expensive diagnostic it to reset the system, I don't think it took long at all. I have the Lynx Evo diagnostic unit and the option wasn't even available on that, guessing the other DIY units are the same. I would find a local...

Bulb holders seem ok this time round, the front one isn’t that old. That part number STC1188 looks like the problem, I’m going order two of those and splie them in, if it works then I will solder them inproperly many thanks :)

I’m wiggling the wires about an inch or two from the bulb itself, so was thinking I could spice a couple of wires in to the existing connector

Disco 1 Wiring and vacuum pipe

All 4 indicators work on the near side with a play from the wiring. The ones that have the issue are the front nearside and the rear nearside bumper indicator. The side and upper rear are fine. It does have cruise control but it's never worked well probably due to the wider vacuum hoses seen...
