    P38 immobiliser problems again - maybe ?

Uprated RF Unit will be the best £170 you ever spend on a P38 ;) They fail randomly, picking up spurious signals, partially wakeing BeCM; actuating door motors and burning them out. Yours sounds exactly as mine was - change RF, check battery holds charge then think about door locks

key fob batteries only last a week!

Probably just because it can!!! There's been several other posts saying similar; I seem to recall one cleared by disconnecting battery earth lead for 10mins (make sure you have EKA!!)

changing a km speedo to read mph

Thanks for that John, I don't do cheese and scrumpy, but on the rare occasion I do get a day off, then the ale doth flow........copiously!! ;) :D:D The mud bank (beach) at w-s-m isn't the best by any means, but round here sure beats living in the city (or in yanky-land for that matter...

    That's it...Gone!!

P38 is a gonna..........now the not-so-proud owner of an oil-burning box, called Relay and a 1.6 mk4 escort :o I'll miss the refinement, comfort and sheer Rangieness, but needs must, the van is much easier, cheaper and less hassle moving bikes around  I've enjoyed the banter here, as...

    Newbie with an EAS question

Good advice JT. Otherwise, check all doors/tailgate are shut properly then try switching heights manually.

    Subtle styling

Depends on your own style; personally, if it ain't broke don't fix it kinda comes to mind....only change I made was cassette out, CD in with finishing strips, otherwise totally outa the box. Better is save what you mightspend on bling for when it DOES go wrong!

    Subtle styling

    E k a

And a damn good one too Dogsy! Had to use mine so much in the begining it's burnt into memeory now but those that haven't "had the pleasure"..........check you have your EKA!!!

    New rf unit

Yep, right part; RF unt sits under off-side rear trim immediately behind rear passenger seat. Single blue wire is aerial connector, other plug goes to the BeCM. You're looking at Radio aerial unit which is further back!

    Can I disable R/F receiver?

If it's the uprated RF unit there "shouldn't" be an issue. That said, after all the hassle I had with mine, I still disconnected the blue aerial wire .........just in case!

    Aftermarket audio

Similar story here; although not happy with cheap n cheerfull Aldi ****e...... I went posh and got the £40 Lidl unit :hysterically_laughi:hysterically_laughi Litterally plug n play, walnut side finishing strips of fleabay- looks and sounds great!

    Should i worry ?

It's probably perfectly normal; most cars have servo assisted brakes. Rangie's have a compressor..........probably that kicking in, tho shouldn't go every press of the pedal, mine kicks in every other depression.

    Strange EAS Fault

After such a damn rude, ignorant 2nd post I doubt you'll get any real help now at all. I offer just one piece of advice; take your time, do search on here to find same or similar previous threads, then Fuk-Off from whence you came!!!
