Perfectly normal; the lower the fuel level, the longer the hiss. As fuel level lowers with use the "space" (vacuum) is filled with petrol vapour, the hiss is vapour escaping.

Think yourself a little lucky; better a fuse than burnin out C/L motors! Take door cards off, check all connections, especially where loom comes through body and door.

No Bill....extremes of temperature affect them badly; if it's a really cold sharp frost I really see a difference in mine - very cold = on the bump stops:eek: So long as it rises when started I'm not fussed at the moment, be a job for the spring & replace all four. I'll be doing mine myself...
