For a keen amateur or workshop? Is there much bolted to them or not?

265/75-16 are the biggest I think. Even with those I think the turning circle is increased a bit? I'm putting some on my truck at some point though. I find that the wider set up makes mud terrains more well behaved on the road as there's more rubber in contact.

I've got a Samson rope hoist. It's rated at 3200kg I think and with a snatch block it will pull most things. They're good winches, pretty much bomb proof. Once you understand them they're so easy to use, there's only three levers on them, one to pull, one to winch out and one to release the cable.

As far as I'm aware all 90s can tow 3500kg. Add that to the maximum gross vehicle weight and that gives you the train weight. I wouldn't worry about the finer details, the towing capacity is all that matters. Edit....That sounds rude now I've read the post above! Sorry!

Good work! You can't beat getting stuck! My tip to you would be to invest in a hi-lift jack. You'd be amazed what sticky situations they can get you out of, and they take up little space in your Landy. You can either jack an end up high and then push it over to get you out of a hole, or load...

If it boiled up really fast and there was still no heat from the heater, could this not mean something had frozen somewhere? If the engine is getting too hot the heater should be really hot too unless the water isn't circulating properly.

I've been thinking exactly that. Surely if the inside wheel does all the driving, when you turn you would start accelerating because the inside wheel really doesn't have to go far on a bend? With a normal diff I assume the power is spread evenly between both wheels, so the inside one will slow...

I keep reading that the Truetrac will never allow one wheel to spin and the other to sit there doing nothing. Does that mean that the wheel with traction will never completely stop, or have I made that up in my head because that's what I want to hear?

I've been on that site for a look. I'm thinking the standard Defender bumper and either a Superwinch husky 10 or T-max 12500. I'd like to go for the T-max if it's good enough. That's what I need to work out though, is it good enough?
