    It's squeeking! Help!

I will check. Sorry if I sounded like I'm not grateful for your input, it just sounded like a "get me a left handed screwdriver" comment :o

    Another tools thread, Compressors!

I've looked at all the tools I'm likely to use and the highest capacity one is 8cfm. Do I really need to spend so much on a 14cfm one? I can get a 12.5cfm one for half the price of a 14! The only thing I've seen needing 14+ is pro spray guns, and I'm not going to be doing that much spraying...

    It's squeeking! Help!

Thinking about it I don't think it will be the brakes. If it was a warped disk then surely it would stop squeeking when the brakes are applied?

    It's squeeking! Help!

The UJs were greased last time the previous owner did them, I don't know as I only bought it yesterday. I will jack it up and check the wheels, and also check the oil level in the hub and look for stones. Would stones be easy to spot? I'll get a grease gun and do the UJs just in case. It can't...

    It's squeeking! Help!

Huh? Wheel nuts as in the five holding the wheel on? I'm pretty sure they are tight, and how would that help? If that's a stupid newbie trap you got me! I can't see what difference the wheel nut tension is going to make?

    It's squeeking! Help!

Hey guys, me again! Sorry I keep asking so many questions, but I figured you're the people to ask. My Defender has a squeek coming from the front wheel. Not sure if it may be the bearings? As I drive along slowly, there's a squeek for every turn of the wheel-as I speed up so does the squeek...

due to a fookin uninsured immugrunt

I'm guessing the Corsa must have been pretty trashed! Hope they book him good for it, but something tells me he'll just walk away! That's usually how it works, the good guy has to pay

    Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire to Gloucestershire

Hey guys. I've found a nice replacement wing for my Defender in Stonehaven, but I'm in Gloucestershire! Does anyone travel that route ever?

£400. I guess that's not too bad for something that will get a fair bit of use and save me a lot of effort! I've looked at the Clarke range, they seem to start at around the same price. They have cast iron pump cylinders which must be good? I need a good selection of tools to go with it too...

Right. It seems I may have to spend quite a lot of money on this thing then? What sort of price range could I find a suitable machine for?

    Another tools thread, Compressors!

I've done a search this time and can't find anything. I'm after a compressor to run general garage tools. The things I've looked at need up to 8CFM to run them. What I don't understand is the size of the tank fitted. If the motor can keep up with the usage, what is the tank for? Does it allow...

Mig welder. What's a good buy?

What's the max and min amperage on that Cosmo? I've been looking at a Clarke Mig160TM. Seems to have a good reputation and spares backing. Also has the ability to accept a refillable bottle easily.

How could I forget the search bar? My appologies gents :bolt:

Mig welder. What's a good buy?

Hey guys. I've decided that since I've just got myself another landy, I should learn to weld. I can "bird sh*t" weld with an arc welder, but I'd like to learn how to do it properly. So far I've learned a couple of things, like cheap Migs sometimes have a permanent live torch which is bad? And...

I'm a landy owner again! Yey!

That was my opinion too. I went to several places and found a Td5 inside my budget, but that wasn't what I was after. The 300tdi is getting rare now if you want a good one, so I decided I'd just buy the best I could find and make it better as time goes on. As money allows it I'll have a new...

I'm a landy owner again! Yey!

I'll post pictures on here when I get it home. It's a little knocked about (farmer reversed his trailer into it the week before he traded it in!) but I'm looking forward to tidying it up. Apart from the front end damage which isn't really that bad, it's actually fairly tidy. Until he hit it with...

What's the widest tyre I can put on a Wolf wheel?

As above really. Can I put a 235/85/16 on them or are they too wide?

I'm a landy owner again! Yey!

Hey guys. I finally found the vehicle I wanted. It took a lot of searching and driving around for test drives but at last I've found a reasonable one. It's a '98 Hi-cap, 300tdi. I'm told they are quite rare (like rocking horse poo around here!) so I'm glad to have found it. I've left a deposit...

Cool. I should be able to do it too then!
