Well i have just ordered a hd 3 pice steel steering guard from paddocks £85.00 all in which i think is good. i think it must be better to upgrade insted of fitting a seconed hand standard part.

Thanks for that. i take it that it wont do any harm if its missing then as someone helped me out today when i left my lights on (flat bat) and we mannaged to pull the standard one off :mil90: . im going to order a new one tonight but i wanted to make sure that i get the wright part.:)

Hi the big bar that runs accross the front of my defender under the bumper and is 2" or so accross. is this the standard steering guard? and if so i take it i need to remove it to fit an aftermarket one? :doh:

Hi i have noticed that i have a small oil leak at the front of my engine where the head meets the block it not affecting the way the landy drives but its driving me mad. i have steam cleaned the engine and within a week the oil is back. could this be the start of a head gasket problem? the oil...

well i checked again today and the hand brake is deffently sticking i pushed the lever to release it and have used the landy today without useing the hand brake and no judder (so far) im going to take the drum off at the weekend and see if i can free it. Thanks for the advice i feel loads...

i tried to turn the rear prop the other day with the hand brake off and it wouldnt move at all but the front one would. i will check again tomorrow but it is looking like this is the cause for my judder. thanks for the help and i will let you all know how i get on :)

i will disconnect the cable tomorrow, see what happens and let you know.:) i hope it is the hand brake as i dont want it to be too expensive to fix :(

when i release the hand brake it seems to come about half way back up?. its not binding but it sounds like thats what i need to look at first. thanks for the help i was starting to worrie about all sorts

hi, its like as if i had forgot to push the clutch down if that makes any sence. it had a new rear prop about a month ago. its starting to worrie me abit thanks for the advice so far.
