thanks for the help i have just tried to blead the steering box and it still feels the same. there is a small leak that seems to be coming from one of the pipes that go to the top of the steering box. i think i will have another go at bleading it tomorrow! it does seem to feel like air in it

I got my steering guard from paddocks it was the 3 pice one that cost 85 quid I had to redrill the holes as they were an inch too far apart

you dont need trade plates to be a trader. i buy and sell 1 or 2 cars (all above bord) and i dont have any trade plates . when you buy a car private just check that the whole log book is there before they send it off. if the yellow part is missing its a fair chance they are a trader.

i cleaned mine up with some thinners and a scotch bright and powder coated it!
