Evening all. After cleaning my tank out, re-fitting it and filling with diesel, it started leaking:( My replacement tank has arrived today but has what looks like brown slime in the bottom of it. It's brand new so not at all what I would expect. Is there something I don't know about...

Bargain.

It looks like a coral reef inside the tank. The car has been rebuilt from top to bottom but the inside of the diesel tank had been ignored. I'm taking it to the morrisons jet wash in the morning so should be back up and running by dinner time.

There is about 10mm of sediment in the baffled area. Looks like its time to clean the tank

Broken down now. Sat waiting for a tow so hopefully can find what's wrong now.

Thanks for the suggestions. Il open the tank in the morning and have a look. At 28 years old there may well be an inch of sludge in the bottom. She lives on normal shell/tesco/morrisons Dino juice. If the tank looks clear il try the clear pipe, great picture...
