dont think its has a digital receiver, think they came out in 07/08 models when they completely changed the audio system again. You can get the digital receiver retro fitted to the vehicle but i believe that it is really expensive to do. The 05 model is just the BMW design with a modified audio...

What age is it? if its a pre 05/06 it will more than likely be the HVAC final stage resistor causing the issue, can you hear/feel air coming out of the centre console vents as soon as you get in the car, without starting the engine? Matt
