    Disco Refurb

Not the worst floor I've seen on here... good job though. having the floor out does have it's advantages... new shocks, clean sedimentor and a bit of chasis welding when I did mine last year.

    Todays laning pics

So far no repairs... I haven't checked the steering fluid since filling it up, but been out and about today and it feels fine (unlike the thumping and whining over the rocks of Stanage yesterday) and no drips on the drive... weird!

    Todays laning pics

Great day, Thanks to Keith for leading the way, Paul for guiding me over the rocks and Ash for getting us all together. Brill pics too.

    Boot welding

I'm no welder, but I did mine last year... took me about 12-15 hours over a bout a week (rained on a few days and I didn't fancy welding in that!) It took longer to drill out all the spot welds and cut out the rot than it did to weld the new pieces in and replace the floor... did a bit of chasis...

    steering box disco 2

There could be other reasons for it pulling to the left... there should be a set distance between the ball joint centres of the drag link... then the tracking should be checked and that should stop the pull. But hey a new box and the "pro's" to fit it should solve your problem... I have no...

    oil leaks on my drive

why not try a drip tray... you could make one with some tarp and a bit of batten for a frame. alternatively a thin layer of sand on the drive.

    Another year of happy motoring!

Ruby passed her MOT this morning :D:D:D A few advisories... Front tyres low on tread  ... they've got at least 4mm Exhaust a bit corroded on the downpipe and front box. Rear drop arm bushed slightly perrished but not exessive. not bad... me a happy boy:D:D:D

can you use Bio diesel in a 200tdi

I run my on own Bio Diesel (real biodiesel) and know many people that run either bio or veg... the one's that run landies on veg do so through a twin tank system... according to them (I know... hear say) landy diesels don't burn the veg oil fully when the engine is cold, so some unburnt veg oil...

    Death Wobble at 65mph...???

Assuming all ball joints and bushes are ok... (landrover claim that steering damper only has an effect offroad) try adjusting the steering box. My disco has been like it for ages... adjusted the steering box at the weekend and it's great now.

    "Shopping Trolley Syndrome"

The Anglia problem was a steering box problem, shims could be removed to adjust the steering play... How's the steering play on the Disco? I've had a similar problem and have adjusted the steering box last weekend and with only beeing able to drive at 60mph for months whilst trying to solve...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Adjusted the free play out of the steering box... what an easy job! then measured the front wheel alignment and thought I'd better adjust the tracking... adjustment bar on track rod siezed... after smacking me face into the brake disc, I gave up! Tyre's knacked anyway, so I'll get the tyre...
